This double issue represents an important international edition (Edition Internationale) of the cult philosophical journal Praxis, the key organ of the Zagreb School of non-dogmatic Marxism and critical theory. The central and most extensive part of this volume is dedicated to the presentation of the domestic journal „Filosofija”, within which leading Yugoslav theorists (Milan Kangrga, Andrija Krešić, Svetozar Stojanović, Ljubomir Tadić, Miladin Životić, Veljko Korać, Vuko Pavićević, Mihailo Marković, Predrag Vranicki, Zagorka Pešić-Golubović, and Vojan Rus) analyze themes of alienation, revolution, the role of the intelligentsia under socialism, and trends in sociology through a series of highly influential discussions. In addition to this section, the volume features important contributions on anthropology and futurology (Flechtheim) in the „Portraits et situations” section, while the „Pensée et réalité” section contains notable texts by foreign authors, including a piece by Joseph H. Berke on the founding of the Free University of New York.
