Sex workers in Slovenia, which has a decriminalized or regulated model, report less violence and more autonomy compared to those in Croatia, where a criminalized framework leads to higher vulnerability to violence, harassment, and arrest. While economic need is a primary driver for sex work in both countries, Slovenia's legal environment offers better opportunities for teamwork and client screening, whereas Croatia's model forces workers to rely more on intermediaries and fosters greater fear of police action.
