Zabilješke: The book deals with a unique historical source relevant to Istrian medieval history, the catalogue of the rights of the patriarchs of Aquileia in Istria. Since the document is originally undated, there have been many attempts to chronologically place and interpret the catalogue accordingly. Based on extensive archival research, the author has managed to offer a new dating of the document, convincingly showing that it was composed in the chancellery of the patriarch of Aquileia, Raymond della Torre, in October 1280. The document is then analyzed within this new chronological framework based on the methodological guidelines of the Cambridge School of Contextualism. A tour de force of Istrian medieval history, the book provides a densely annotated account of a turbulent period in which superior powers clashed for supremacy over the Istrian peninsula.
