Supernature (1973) by South African anthropologist and biologist Lyall Watson has become a cult classic because it attempts to bridge the gap between science and parapsychology. Its main thesis is that the "supernatural" does not really exist - there are only phenomena that are part of nature, but which our current science cannot yet explain. Watson explores topics such as: Biological rhythms: How cosmic forces and magnetic fields affect living organisms. Extrasensory perception (ESP): Telepathy and clairvoyance viewed through the prism of biology. Psychokinesis: The influence of mind on matter. Plant intelligence: The reactions of plants to human emotions (the so-called "Baxter effect"). Although it has been criticized by many scientists for its lack of solid evidence, the book has remained extremely popular due to Watson's poetic style and the idea that nature is a much stranger and more interconnected place than we think.
